Matthew Bernard, DMD Pediatric Dentist
Dr. Matthew Bernard is a highly-skilled, level one trauma center pediatric dentist, possessing extensive training and experience treating children with special health care needs and craniofacial deformities. Dr. Bernard provides compassionate care that enables family goals to shape treatment decisions. He maintains a fun, positive, and rewarding environment for all his patients. “Having fun is why I got into Pediatrics!”
Dr. Bernard graduated cum laude from Marquette University in Milwaukee, WI, with his Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Science degree. He continued his education at the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Dentistry, where he earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree. Dr. Bernard completed his two-year pediatric residency at Children’s National Medical Center, Washington, DC. He is an ardent advocate of continuing education, keeping current with the latest in dental technology.
Dr. Bernard has volunteered his time and skills to numerous organizations. Most recently at the UIC (University of Illinois at Chicago) Special Needs Outreach at Easter Seals, providing preventative, restorative, and oral surgery services to the children of Easter Seals. He also volunteered at the Rotation Student, Salud Y Paz Guatemala, providing direct care to patients at clinics in Camanchaj, Cunen, and Nahuala, Guatemala.
Dr. Bernard is a member of the American Dental Association, American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, and the International Association of Paediatric Dentistry.
In his free time, Dr. Bernard enjoys cycling, weightlifting, cooking, live music, and traveling.
